Speak a note. It's in OneNote, in English.
VoiceNotes turns what you say into text and adds it to the top of one OneNote page, with the date and time. Speak English, Mandarin or a mix. No typing, no review.
Open VoiceNotes, freeHow it works
- Open VoiceNotes from your home screen.
- Tap and talk, then tap again to save. Or hold the button while you talk and let go.
- It's saved. Your words, in English, land at the top of your VoiceNotes page in OneNote.
Why people use it
- One page, always. Every note goes to the same OneNote page, newest at the top, so ideas never scatter across new pages.
- Mixed languages welcome. Mandarin and English in one sentence are understood, and you get English every time. When you spoke Mandarin, your original words are kept above the English.
- A copy in your inbox. Each note is also emailed to you (switch it off any time).
- Fast capture. Hold to talk, let go to save. Nothing to type, nothing to confirm.
- Works anywhere. iPhone, Android or computer, as an app on your home screen. No connection? The note waits on your phone and is saved later.
- Private by design. Your notes live in your OneNote. VoiceNotes doesn't keep your recordings or your words.
A copy in your inbox
Every saved note is also emailed to the address you sign in with: from your own Outlook mailbox when you have one, otherwise from VoiceNotes. Switch it off any time at the bottom of the app.

Questions
Which languages can I speak?
English, Mandarin, or both mixed in one sentence; the language is detected automatically. Notes are always saved in English, with your original words kept above when you didn't speak English.
Where are my notes saved?
In your own OneNote: a notebook called VoiceNotes, one page, newest note at the top. VoiceNotes creates it the first time and doesn't keep a copy.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Open it in Safari or Chrome on iPhone, or Chrome, Samsung Internet or Edge on Android, and add it to your home screen. It works on a computer too.
What do I need?
A personal Microsoft account (Outlook, Hotmail or Live) with OneNote. Work and school Microsoft accounts aren't supported.
Does it work offline?
You can record without a connection. The note waits on your phone and is saved the next time you open VoiceNotes online.
Is my voice stored?
No. Recordings go to Google Cloud only to turn them into text and English, and aren't kept by VoiceNotes. Google doesn't use them to train its models. See the Privacy Policy.
Is it accurate?
VoiceNotes uses Google's latest speech model (Chirp 3), which detects the language by itself and copes well with English and Mandarin mixed in one sentence. Like all AI it can still make mistakes, especially with names, so check anything important.
